Nonsense. People have lived in much more cramped conditions for longer. These people will be the centre of immense media interest. They will feel they are on a mission backed by the whole of humanity. This won’t be a problem. There will be enough space for private areas and exercise. That’s all they need really.

I cannot imagine if they could find two volunteers who would be willing to live in such cramped quarters for 500 days. It would be insanity-inducing.

If it is a manned mission, the video will be the most expensive snuff film ever done. The first missions, I expect, will be one way tickets. But we MUST push ourselves off of this rock we are ever so quickly using up!

Paragon had an idea to put a greenhouse on Mars and got connected up with Elon Musk. During the trip to Russia to negotiate for its launch on a Dnepr (I think), Musk decided the price was too high and he could do a better job.

Musk has lately been taking credit for the idea as his own. Nobody’s really interested in correcting the record here, for obvious reasons of not wanting to piss off a billionaire with a penchant for suing people.

Makes you wonder, though, doesn’t it?
